We make compensation decisions on the basis of the documents provided. These include a loss report, vehicle inspection information, and any other reports. As a claimant, it is your responsibility to prove that the loss in question is compensable. You should provide us with such information as is necessary to establish liability for damages.
If you are dissatisfied with the compensation decision issued, you can file an appeal with FINE's insurance and financial advice or the Consumer Disputes Board. Appeals are free of charge.
The comprehensive motor vehicle insurance does not cover repair costs caused by a technical malfunction. If your vehicle malfunctioned during your travel due to a defect or damage in the vehicle, the roadside assistance coverage will cover the cost of towing your vehicle to the nearest repair shop, as well as any additional travel expenses incurred on the driver and passengers in accordance with the policy terms and conditions.
The motor liability insurance of the driver at fault covers the temporary decommissioning of the other party’s vehicle for the days when the vehicle of the party not at fault is in a repair shop for repairs. The party not at fault also has the opportunity to apply for a replacement car if the use of a vehicle is necessary for work.
Submit a report on the need for a replacement car in the Oma Fennia online service. If the prerequisites for granting a replacement car are met, the motor liability insurance of the party at fault will reimburse 94% of the rental costs of the replacement car.
You can find more detailed information on compensation for temporary decommissioning of a vehicle and the criteria for granting a replacement car on the Traffic Accident and Patient Injury Board website.
Log in to Oma FenniaStatutory motor liability insurance covers personal injuries caused by the use of the vehicle in traffic, as well as property damage of the party not at fault. Motor liability insurance does not cover damage to your own vehicle or property in the vehicle. In addition, motor liability insurance does not cover the property owned or controlled by the owner, holder or driver of this vehicle.
You can insure your own vehicle with separate comprehensive insurance. The comprehensive insurance covers damage to the vehicle according to the extent of cover you have chosen.
